Construction of $4.1 billion Novelis aluminium project on schedule

Novelis’ $4.1 billion aluminium facility in Bay Minette, Alabama, USA is on track for commissioning in the second half of 2026.

Construction of a low-carbon aluminium recycling and rolling facility remains on schedule. In a recent update earlier this month it said the site will alow for continued growth in North America for decades to come.

It is expected to have a capacity of 600kt finished goods when complete.

Approximately 420 kt will be for production of beverage packaging sheet.

The remainder will be targeted for automotive use but the company said this is flexible for other FRP products, it said at its Investor Day.
