Vedanta Aluminium reports record production
Indian manufacturer Vedanta has reported record aluminium production in the past year. For the financial year from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, Vedanta posted its aluminium production of 2,421 thousand tonnes compared to 2,370 thousand tonnes in FY2024.
It was an annual increase of 2.11%, slightly lower than the growth rate of 3% the previous year. Breaking it down by facility, Jharsuguda had an annual production increase of 3%, reaching 1,830 thousand tonnes in FY25 from 1,784 thousand tonnes in FY24.
Its BALCO facility achieved a steady 1% increase, achieving 592 thousand tonnes in FY25, up from 586 thousand tonnes in FY24.
Alumina production had a 9% annual rise, supported by expansion projects, though quarterly output was impacted by temporary supply chain disruptions, the company said.
