Allied Mineral Products acquires Gemcast

Allied Mineral Products, LLC (USA), has purchased Gemcast, Inc (CDN).  The acquisition will allow Allied to have a manufacturing presence in Canada and adopt new lines of business through Gemcast’s industry-leading vacuum-formed products, fiber gaskets and precast shapes.

Gemcast serves a diverse customer base in Canada and the U.S. Allied intends to expand this customer base domestically and internationally through its extensive North American and world-wide sales network.

“Gemcast is a great addition to the Allied family”, said Paul Jamieson, President & CEO of Allied. “We already have a strong relationship, having worked together for over 25 years. They have outstanding products, a reputation for quality, expertise in the markets they serve, a skilled and engaged workforce, a laser-focus on customer satisfaction and a people-centered company culture all of which make for a perfect fit with Allied.”

Allied’s acquisition of Gemcast creates opportunities to sell its products to a broader customer base in North America and newly into international markets. Gemcast’s Ontario facility compliments Allied’s existing US operations and will allow Allied to offer its customers more options for regionalized manufacturing and sales support in the future.

Gemcast was founded 26 years ago. Gemcast’s production facility in Kitchener/CA joins Allied’s existing North American manufacturing operations in Columbus, Ohio; Brownsville, Texas; and Pell City, Alabama.

Allied Mineral Products, LLC is a leading global manufacturer of monolithic refractory ceramics and casted refractory shapes with 12 manufacturing facilities in eight countries, seven precast shapes facilities, and two research and technology centers. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Allied serves a wide variety of industries with innovative refractory solutions and exceptional service and support, backed by expert engineering and research teams, with sales in over 100 countries.
