Aluminium Dunkerque opens a new chapter in high-purity aluminium

With CrystAl, Aluminium Dunkerque is taking a new step up the value chain and strengthening its position in the high-purity aluminium market. This new industrial activity reflects a clear ambition: to offer, from France, a credible European solution in a strategic, high value-added segment where purity, consistency and reliability of supply are critical requirements. Initial production has already confirmed Aluminium Dunkerque’s ability to reach the 4N level, with a target range extending up to 4N6.

CrystAl is aimed at highly technical and demanding markets, including metal powders and pastes, advanced electronic materials, semiconductors and capacitor-related applications. To serve these needs, Aluminium Dunkerque is developing an offer in both sows and ingots, providing greater flexibility for processors and industrial users.
Currently designed to produce around 200 tonnes per year, CrystAl is expected to scale up to 3,000 tonnes by 2028–2029. This trajectory reflects Aluminium Dunkerque’s determination to establish a long-term presence in the high-purity aluminium market as a European supplier of reference.

This move up the value chain fits naturally within the company’s broader industrial strategy, combining metallurgical performance, industrial ambition and low-carbon aluminium.
With CrystAl, Aluminium Dunkerque is expanding far beyond traditional primary aluminium and strengthening its presence in advanced materials for the industries of tomorrow.
