Corinth Pipeworks wins contract in Australia for hydrogen linepipe

Corinth Pipeworks, steel pipe segment of Cenergy Holdings, announces that Jemena Asset Management has awarded a contract for their Port Kembla Lateral Pipeline project to CPW America Co, a wholly owned subsidiary of Corinth Pipeworks.
The contract covers approximately 13km of 18” diameter High Frequency Welded (HFW) line pipe, certified to transport up to 100% hydrogen, which will include FBE coating, internal epoxy lining, and the supply of induction bends.  The HFW pipes will be manufactured in Corinth’s facility in Greece and delivered directly to Australia within 2022.

The construction of the gas pipeline will connect the future Port Kembla Energy Terminal to the existing 797km Eastern Gas Pipeline. At the same time, Jemena is exploring the role of hydrogen in domestic, transport, and commercial settings. As such, Jemena has selected to utilize Corinth’s solution of high-grade steel pipes for the future transmission of up to 100% hydrogen.
This award highlights the significance of our technologically advanced solution for hydrogen certified pipes and the utilization of our state-of-the-art hydrogen testing laboratory. The pipes will be tested in-house in full compliance with the requirements of the ASME B31.12 code.
Jemena owns and operates a diverse portfolio of energy assets across the east coast of Australia. With more than $11 billion worth of major utility infrastructure, Jemena supplies millions of households and businesses with these essential services every day.
