South32 issues Mozal Aluminium Update
South32 Limited advises that due to escalating civil unrest in Mozambique, the transport of raw materials to Mozal Aluminium is being impacted by road blockages.
The company says that “We have implemented contingency plans to mitigate operational impacts and we are working with relevant stakeholders. We are withdrawing production guidance for Mozal Aluminium as we respond to the evolving situation.
The safety and wellbeing of our people at Mozal Aluminium is our priority. Our workforce is safe and there have been no security incidents at Mozal Aluminium.”
