World Steel Association: July 2026 crude steel production
Brussels, Belgium – World crude steel production for the 70 countries reporting to the (worldsteel) was 149.2 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2026, a 0.3% decrease compared to July 2025.
Crude steel production by region
- Africa produced 2.0 Mt in July 2026, up 6.1% on July 2025.
- Asia and Oceania produced 109.4 Mt, down 1.2%.
- The EU (27) produced 10.5 Mt, up 3.8%.
- Europe, Other produced 3.7 Mt, up 5.8%.
- The Middle East produced 3.8 Mt, down 13.4%.
- North America produced 9.6 Mt, up 4.9%.
- Russia & other CIS + Ukraine produced 6.7 Mt, up 2.2%.
- South America produced 3.6 Mt, up 2.8%.
The 70 countries included above accounted for approximately 98% of total world crude steel production in 2025.

- Russia is estimated to have produced 5.7 Mt, up 3.3%.
- South Korea produced 5.7 Mt, up 6.4%.
- Türkiye produced 3.4 Mt, up 7.0%.
- Germany is estimated to have produced 2.8 Mt, up 3.0%.
- Brazil produced 2.8 Mt, up 0.1%. Viet Nam produced 2.7 Mt, up 34.7%.
