Aluminum market shows shortage of 1.076 tons in first 7 months
According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global aluminum market has a shortage of 1.076 million tons in the first seven months of this year. The supply surplus in 2020 was 1.211 million tons.
During the period, the global aluminum demand was 41.43 million tons, increasing by 3.617 million tons from the same period a year ago. The global aluminum output had a year-on-year hike of 6%, of which China’s output accounted for roughly 22.9 million tons, 57% of the total global output.
In July, the global aluminum output was around 5.78 million tons, and the demand was roughly 5.89 million tons.
