Eloro Resources intersects high grade tin

Tin explorer Eloro Resources has intersected major tin mineralisation at depth below the potential starter pit at the Iska Iska polymetallic project in Bolivia.
In the company’s recent definition diamond drilling program, Eloro intersected 87 m at 0.74% Sn from 291.8 m depth, including 33 m at 1.39% Sn from 339.8 m depth. This is the first hole of this campaign in the under-drilled tin domain. In the upper part of this drill hole, higher grade silver mineralisation was also intersected.
Iska Iska mineralisation is split between the upper silver-zinc-lead polymetallic domain and the lower tin domain. Tin mineralisation at Iska Iska is hosted in an intrusion breccia approximately 750 m long by 450 m wide, extending to a depth of at least 700 m. The company believes this breccia to be an offshoot from a large tin porphyry at depth.
The mineralisation in the drill hole occurred as visible coarse-grained cassiterite, which the company said was amenable to gravity separation. Eloro will use core from this hole for additional metallurgical testing.
Within the high grade, well-mineralised section of the drillhole, the company intercepted 1.5 m long samples encompassing cassiterite veins grading at 6.65% Sn, 4.97% Sn, 3.50% Sn, and 2.75% Sn.
Osvaldo Arce, Eloro’s Executive Vice President, Latin America and General Manager of the company’s Bolivian subsidiary, commented “Our understanding of the immense mineralising system at Iska Iska continues to advance leading to the very targeted definition drill program which is producing very good results and continuing to expand resource potential.”
The company’s initial inferred mineral resource estimate for the tin domain included 110 Mt at 0.12% Sn, 14.2 g/t Ag, and 0.14% Pb, for a total of 132,000 tonnes contained tin. The total project resource also contained 298 Moz silver, 4.09 Mt zinc, and 1.74 Mt lead. The company expects tonnages to increase based on high grade intersections returned in the definition drilling program.
ITA is pleased to see positive drilling results from Iska Iska. Bolivia has long been a major tin producer and holds enormous growth potential with some of the largest tin resources globally. ITA looks forward to seeing further results from Eloro Resources.
