Hammerer Aluminium Industries opens €46 million South Korea plant
Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) has opened a fully automated extrusion line in South Korea. The 13,800m2 production hall in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do province has a fully automated extrusion line and was constructed after a €46 million investment.
HAI developed the facility with its strategic partner LS Cable & System. The official opening ceremony for the production site took place on May 15, 2025.
HAI Materials Korea (HAIMK) will manufacture complex aluminum components for the South Korean market at the site. The production facility is equipped with a fully automated extrusion line with a pressing force of 60 meganewtons as well as all upstream and downstream systems.
CEO Rob van Gils, COO Dr. Markus Schober and Peter Blatt, Strategic Investment Management, represented the HAI Group.
On behalf of LS Cable & System, Koo Bon-Kyu, CEO of LS Cable & System, Hong Young-ho, CEO of LS Materials, Lee Yun sung, CEO of LS Alsco and Cho JeongWoo, CEO of Haimk were on site as well as other important representatives from business and politics.
